Mothes day gift for my MIL

Here is a wooden frame from Michaels that I covered in paper. This is for my Mil for mothers day. Thanks to youtube gal Amy at lovemyella for the inspiration to try this. The birdcage was cut with my SCAL again. I painted it blue and used Glossy Accents on the top to give a little shine. Cant over do the bling and all when its from my 4 boys for Grandma. I used Prima flowers and a pearl at the top of the birdcage. I added brown ribbon around the edges to finish it off and hide the seams from the paper. I added a butterfly in the top right hand corner. I inked the edges with vintage photo as well.. I hope she really likes it. This was fairly easy and I think I will do some more. Thanks again Amy for you video showing the ones you made and giving me the inspiration to try it.!!! Thanks for stopping by and as always leave a comment.

A card made with SCAL

I cut this adorable owl and branch with Sure Cuts A Lot. A program you use through your compture with your Cricut to cut out. The stripped background paper and pink paper used on the owl and branc are from Sei the Mimosa collection. This collection has awsome papers and would be perfect for your springs pages and projects. The flowers and pearls are by Prima. I also used my Swiss dots embossing folder to give the owl and branch some texture. I hope this card will cheer up the person who is going to be receiving it.! Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to leave me a comment.

Here is the 1st envelope of the envelope mini that Im working on. Thanks to my friend Tina from Your Paper Pantry for getting the coin envelopes. On both sides of the envie I used paper by Fancypants, a line called Papa from 2007. This paper is great for doing boy or men projects. I used my Heidi Swapp clock stamp set on the envie and on the tag. I spayed everything with my shimmerz spritz in truffle. The wording was done with a lable maker and I used my vintage photo distress ink and heat set to give that aged look. Happy Thursday and thanks for stopping by. For those in my May tag swap check back or be on the lookout for an email a post on your blog from me soon.

Here are some tags Ive made

Here are a couple of tags that I had a chance to make today. The bottom one I made for Yoliebean as a thank you for hosting the bottle swap I particpated in. I hope she likes it. Yoliebean always has a quote to share in her vids. So when I so this stamp at Michaels I knew I needed to get it for a tag for her. I made the lolipop flower from dictionary paper. I inked it with Peeled paint distress ink. I added silver shimmer spritz and clear embossed the edges. I added the mesh behind the flower and the feather to. I also did some clear embossing with a Tim holtz script and flourish stamp. I used blue and green fibers at the top to finish off the tag.
The top tag uses the same script stamp as well as a bird/branch stamp the I heat embossed with black. I used fired brick distress ink over the script which is the resist emboss technique. I heat embossed the flowers as well as used diamond dust on them. The back has paper from DCWV and I added a baby coin envelope and put a small tag inside with a note.
Happy Sunday and thanks for stopping by to look around.

Hi ladies,

Here is the May tag swap info. Anyone can join even if you are not a member of Your Paper Pantry. I think I would like to have a theme of "May flowers" with a twist : Use Red somewhere on your tag. So that could be red ink, red flowers, red paper. I think you get the idea. Here we have the saying April showers bring May flowers. So flowers of any kind. I like to use the shipping tags you can get at Staples the #5 sized tag. If any of our international friends need to know the size of that tag I can get you that info. You can make them all them same or different if you want. I will let you know how many to make when the sign ups have closed. So you can sign up til the end of Apirl. If we have a lot of ladies sign up I will break up into groups.

If you need some ideas you can look around here on my blog. I have posted some tags recently which should help you. Also you can leave me a message here or at YPP if you have any quesions.

Im still figuring out how we will exchange the tags. I will let you know as soon as I figure something out that will work for all including are internaional gals. Scrapbook Expo Pics

Here are some pics from my first time at Scrapbook USA Expo. I got to my some friends that I have known on Cricut.com for over 2 years. It was so fun meeting you Tomianne and getting to be at the expo too. We had a table and as you can see some of the gals were scrapbooking there too. I wasnt able to do that this time but maybe next time. I really liked the expo but was disappointed in some ways. I felt like the focus was paper. They had a ton of paper there. They had stamps and some flowers and even beads for watch making. I didnt see a lot of distress inks, embossing powders or any glimmer mist. No crop-a-dial or big-bites. I wish they would have had more tools and more of the things that are "HOT' in paper crafting right now. One of the ladies from a booth told me that here in Utah those things dont do well. Hmmmm..... I wonder why. Yes Cricut was there with the Cricut cake. They had lots of demenstrations going on with that. I even think I got some pics of it that I will look for and post if I did. We got to see some sneak peaks at some up coming cartridges as well. So all in all it was a fun time and I would go back, but would like to more of the extras next time. You can check out my haul videos on You Tube at my channel Scrappingpinklady. Happy Thursday and Thanks for stopping by.

A tag I made for a friend

Here is a tag I made for a friend that I sent some diamond dust to. For those of you who dont know diamond dust is like a sugary topping that you can put on flowers to make them look like the new Prima ones released at winter CHA 2010. I got this adorable stamp at M's on clearance for about $3.50. I just love it and it reminded me of one that my friend Yoliebean has. Her youtube channel is yoliebean. I stamped the background with a polk-a-dot stamp in Dusty concord. I then stamped some images of the bird stamp in the background off the edges. I stamped the bird image in versa mark and and embossed it with black embossing powder. I then edged it with the same dusty concord. I pop dotted the main bird image and added a black feather behind it. My 1st time working with them and I'm hooked. I added fibers at the bottom and the top of the tag. Happy Thursday and thanks for looking.
